Deliciously Earthy Nettle Latte

Here at West Apothecary, Nettle Latte's are Harriet's our Founder and Medicinal Herbalist's favourite way to arrive and wake in the morning, our nettle latte recipe is a perfect coffee replacement that naturally adds vitality and energy to the start of your day!


A simple herbal supplement can be used and added to an array of your favourite homemade food and drinks. Simply adding this to your morning smoothie, tea, soups, dressings or even sprinkled and tossed in food adds earthy notes, flavour and benefits to your everyday eating and drinking rituals!



Nettle is known as the power house in the herbal kingdom, native and indigenous to the lands of the UK and is as beneficial as matcha, we are blessed with Nettle dominating the hedgerows during the spring season, it's strong essence within the lands mirrors that strength within us. Enriched with iron, vitamins A, C, K and B, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, loaded with fiber and chlorophyll, Nettle is a pungent antioxidant which works as an effective diuretic, cleanses and detoxifies the kindeys and liver which expells toxins, stagnation and water rentension. Nettle nourishes the adrenal glands and supports fatigue, women's hormone health due to it's balancing and restoring properties, men's health - increases energy levels and fertility, reduces inflammatory conditions - arthritus, colitis to acne and eczema and also can be used as a natural supplement to reduce blood sugar levels.

Here is how you can make a deliciously nutrient rich nettle latte with our Nettle Powder Herbal Supplement - available here on our online shop!


You will need:


1 cup full of plant based milk, oat milk is recommended,

1 tsp of nettle powder,

and 1 tsp of honey or agave.


Method:


Add your cup of milk to a pan and place on a medium to high heat to warm up, add the nettle powder and whisk well until fully combined. Keep on the heat for 1 minute or so for extracting those properties. Your milk should turn an earthy colour, take off the heat and add some honey and enjoy! Another method is adding the ingredients to a high speed blender, add to a pan and heat up for drinking too.
